My first Penny Post: Faith

A penny is a small treasure is it not? It has near endless possibilities if only gathered with other treasures of the correct currency. So I liken my posts to pennies.

If you are too busy to take note of a small value then walk on. Leave the penny on the sidewalk. It’s value is there just the same. True currency will always have more value than counterfeit, even if that counterfeit boasts a visage of Grover Cleveland.

If you love pennies, I’m glad. I hope you will find my posts genuine.

Today’s Penny: Faith

It really should be the first penny placed in the jar.  It’s simple. I believe that God is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please Him. For he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

The world is a beautiful place isn’t it? God did that. He did it so that everyone could see a truth of who He is. Some truths take a little more effort to find and once you find them even more effort to really believe them.

You have to begin in the right place, at the foot of the cross. You have to follow the right directions, the word of God. And you have to have faith. Faith in God himself.

He is who He says He is.

If you never sought to learn any truth other than who God is that would be enough to keep you learning your whole life through. And I think, you would find that anything outside of who God is isn’t really worth learning about anyways. All order, every discipline or art uncorrupted finds it’s source in God. Do you know God better because 2+2=4 ? Or how about the fact that red mixed with yellow makes orange. Don’t worry, I won’t take that thought much further today. Just know that creation has meaning. You have meaning. But the true value is always found in relation to who God is. Your value is found in who God is.

Repentance. Surrender. Obedience. Faith.  They rest upon the truth –

God is love.

It’s a good place to begin.

And you know, God doesn’t leave us with all the effort expended on our side….

Jesus said “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
